REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - U.S. President Barack Obama cut 5 percent of his salary as a form of solidarity with the government officials who have to take leave without pay due to budget reductions that began last month.

  President Obama's pay cut was started on March 1, when the budget cuts come into effect. Obama payroll deduction will continue until the end of December this year, a government official said on Wednesday.
